Pre-eclampsia threatens maternal and fetal health and safety, especially when maternal organ dysfunction and placental-fetal problems arise. Management of preeclampsia is challenging due to its complex pathophysiological mechanisms, rapidly progressing course, and difficulty of early recognition. Timing of pregnancy termination is critical in preventing adverse outcomes. Mode of delivery should be based on maternal-fetal condition, gestational weeks, fetal presentation, cervical status, and hospital resources.
