Abstract:

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a conditional pathogen. Many studies have shown that colonization or infection of GBS in pregnant women is related to maternal and fetal adverse outcomes. Although several countries recommended universal screening GBS in pregnant women and developed guidelines, China was without standardized prevention and treatment measures. In this paper, the pathogenesis of GBS, the diagnosis of GBS infection, the influence on mother and fetus and the strategies of screening prevention and treatment were comprehensively discussed.
