Abstract:

Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) usually occurs in very low or ultra-low birth weight infants with small gestational age, mainly due to low synthesis of pulmonary substances and immature lung development. At present, the substitution therapy of exogenous pulmonary surfactant is the main method to prevent and treat premature infants with RDS. In addition, prenatal prevention, resuscitation strategy and early postnatal respiratory support therapy also play an important role in the prevention and treatment of the disease. This paper reviews the prevention and treatment of respiratory distress syndrome in premature infants.
