Abstract:

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is prevalent. However, there are few cases of neonatal SARS-CoV-2 infection reported at present, and the evidence is not perfect. The information of neonatal SARS-CoV-2 infection is still unclear and unified, including the transmission route, clinical characteristic, treatment, prognosis and even diagnostic criteria. Therefore, the perinatal community should actively carry out a systematic and comprehensive study on the perinatal SARS-CoV-2 infection. Based on the information above, results of the research have great importance on prophylaxis and treatment for coronavirus infection among these most vulnerable special populations. As a result, the evidence-based group of the newborn pediatrician branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the critical group of the perinatal medicine branch of the Chinese Medical Association jointly organized the expert group to develop this proposal for the reference of the peers in the field of Perinatology in formulating the specific project plan.
