Abstract:

Blood transfusion plays a vital role in rescuing severe postpartum hemorrhage patients. However, an inappropriate massive transfusion could cause various complications, such as coagulopathy, hypothermia, acidosis, and even life-threatening emergencies. Massive transfusion protocol (MTP) bases on multidisciplinary cooperation (including surgery department, hematology department, anesthesia department, blood transfusion department, blood bank, etc.), which not only save the patients effectively and efficiently, but also save costs, reduce the risk of transfusion and raise the rescue success rate.
