Abstract:

Obstetric hysterectomy is an important operation, usually performed as a life-saving procedure in cases of intractable postpartum hemorrhage. Abnormal placentation and cesarean delivery are the common risk factors of postpartum hemorrhage patients to have hysterectomy. Placenta previa and placenta increta are the major indications for severe postpartum hemorrhage patients to have hysterectomy. Accurately seize the surgical indications and operation timing without delay, carry out the operation conscientiously and deal with the emergencies, which could reduce the maternal morbidity and mortality.

Key words: Postpartum hemorrhage, Hysterectomy
