Abstract:

Gallstone disease is common in the general adult population, with a higher incidence in pregnancy than in non-pregnancies. Unlike uncomplicated cholelithiasis, the risk of adverse maternal and infant outcomes increases when complicated with acute cholecystitis, obstructive jaundice, cholangitis and pancreatitis. This review summarizes the progress of diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy cholelithiasis.
