Clinical analysis of infected abortion complicated with sepsis: four cases reports

Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical manifestation, laboratory examination, diagnosis and treatment of infected abortion complicated with sepsis.

Methods

The clinical datum of 4 cases of infected abortion complicated with sepsis were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were admitted in the department of gynaecology and obstetrics in The Third Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from Jaunary to December 2013. The clinical datum included information of clinical manifestation, laboratory examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Results

All the 4 cases of infected abortion complicated with sepsis had a history of vaginal or intrauterine invasive operation. The 4 patients had hyperpyrexia, abdominal pain, vagina bleeding; and the laboratory indicators of procalcitonin, white blood cell count, neutrophil percentages were increasing. All the patients were after comprehensive treatment of anti-infection and antishock; 3 cases were recovered and discharged, 1 case became better and discharged.

Conclusion

The infected abortion complicated with sepsis is an emergency severe disease, therefore early diagnosis and timely anti-infection and other comprehensive treatment are needed.
