Abstract:

Postpartum hemorrhage(PPH) remains one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. Intraoperative cell salvage (IOCS) can improve maternal prognosis to some extent by avoiding a variety of blood transfusion-related complications, such as acute hemolysis, allergies, fever reaction, blood source infectious diseases, allogeneic blood transfusions reaction and also escort patients of rare blood types. Limited by the theoretical issues related to amniotic fluid embolism and fetal red blood cell contamination, the progress of application of this technology in obstetrics is slow. This article will focus on the current status of IOCS in cesarean section.

Key words: Blood transfusion, autologous, Caesarean section, Transfusion reaction
