Abstract:

Thrombophilia refers to a pathological condition with an increased risk of thromboembolism due to the presence of various inherited or acquired factors, an increased coagulation potential unique to pregnancy, and a reduced anticoagulant activity resulting in the pregnancy itself being physiologically hypercoagulable, which, when combined with thrombophilia, increases the risk of thromboembolic disease during pregnancy. There is still controversy about the association of thrombophilia with complications during pregnancy, and this article mainly addresses the association between thrombophilia and thromboembolic disease of pregnancy.

Key words: Thromboembolism, Thrombosis, Pregnancy
